Advice from the BP Measurement Experts
With all of the attention being given to the need for hospitals to reduce the occurrence of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in their facilities, should we be equally concerned about the outpatient facilities that work in conjunction with these health systems? The answer is a resounding “yes,” and these outpatient facilities find themselves working with the same diligence to find products that will help lower their incidence of these unwanted, costly, and often, dangerous infections.
For example, a blood pressure monitor that is sold with a reusable cuff may not be able to be purchased by such a facility if there is not a disposable cuff option. And that’s an important step in protecting a patient’s health; because – let’s face it – a blood pressure cuff is a perfect modus of transportation for germs if not properly and regularly cleaned with an approved, sterilizing solution. It is important to be aware of the requirements at your facility and carefully research what accessories are available for the product you are purchasing.
