Job Summary:

Seeking an energetic, career-oriented individual whose main focus will be coordinating the activities of a development team to specify, design, and develop products for the medical device industry. This position requires a hands-on project manager that is capable of working on and tracking a large number of tasks in a fast paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Main focus of this position will be developing new medical device products. The ideal candidate will have a strong Engineering background plus excellent interpersonal/ leadership skills. This position will work with sales, marketing, engineering, and 3rd party contractors. Job duties include – leading new product development teams, tracking and solving quality issues, and maintaining products through their life cycles.

  • Coordinate the activities of Project Team members (internal and contract employees)

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.

  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.

  • Write effective requirements and / or functional specifications

  • Act as Lead Engineer / systems architect on design and / or code reviews with 3rd Party suppliers.

  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems. (i.e. Project planning and scheduling, Gantt charts and costing)

  • Initiate, develop, release and maintain all product engineering documentation

  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests

  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions. Responsible for product release

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with all federal and state regulations.

  • Up to 10% travel – Domestic and international

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Guideline

  • BS in Electrical Eng., Computer Eng. or Computer Science (Advanced degree is desired)

  • Experience with embedded hardware design and/or embedded Firmware development required

  • 10+ years’ experience working in engineering environment

  • 5+ years, minimum, experience in project management

  • Must have a proven record completing high profile projects, special consideration if PMP certified.

  • Some experience with a medical device company is desired

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a normal office environment.

  • This position may require up to 10% travel (domestic and international).
